German TV's Olympic Games livestreams in VLC

Hi there,

German broadcaster ARD offers a (part-time) livestream of the Olympic Games in Beijing:

How can I extract the streams to play them in VLC? I searched the HTML sourcecode for mms: protocols etc., but none of those stream-like addresses work in VLC. Somebody having an idea? I'm moderately savvy in computers and teh interwebs, but an absolute beginner in streaming, so there might be some catastrophic newbie mistake in my clumsy attempts...

Why has london already been chosen for the 2012 olympic games? Didn't beijing receive their bid in 2006? Why is the london decision coming so early, be fore the 2008 olympics are even over? How are the olympic locations decided on and at what intervals are they decided; always this early?
