Setting VLC Player as the default for p;aying DVDs

Hi

Just wondering if you can set the VLC media player as the default for playing DVDs so that when you put a DVD in the DVD Rom drive, it automatically pops up in the VLC player like other programs do such as Nero Showtime etc. I find there are quite a few steps just to get a movie playing. Also before I even get a chance to click on the VLC icon some other program pops up but it won't play the DVD so I have to close it down and then click on the VLC icon.
