one big convenience problem with vlc

Postby Guest » 12 Dec 2004 06:26

the problem is with the timeline below the video that's playing. in any other media player but vlc it actually takes you to the part of the movie that you click on in the timeline. but in vlc it jumps several minutes/beats ahead or behind which is really annoying. this is the only thing that keeps me from making vlc my default player for .avi and so on.

any word on when this is going to be fixed, if ever?

another big convenience issue is having to resize the window every time you open a new file. there should be an option for "remember size" of the player. like the latest wmp and other players have.

If I remember correctly, that was always the case with VLC timeline slider.
For now, you'll have to grab the slider witht your mouse, and then advance it as far as you want. Wherever you let go of mouse button it really does start playing from that position.
