Nero Recode (digital) mp4 and subtitles

Postby Richard » 07 Nov 2004 23:01

VLC 0.8 plays MP4-files made by Nero Recode 2.x .

That's great!!

But I can't manage to view the subtitles!

Does anyone know how to do that?

Any ideas?

Or have we wait for a future vlc release?

Could you please post a sample of such a mp4 to ftp://streams.videolan.org/incoming

name it something like nero_subs.mp4
A couple of MBs should do the trick..

Ok.
I hope I made it.
You have to know - This is my first time data transfer via ftp.

I called the file: nero_subtitle.mp4

There should be englisch subtitels.
You can see them playing with Nero ShowTime.

VLC plays video and sound but no subtitels.

Maybe there will be a work around?

Thx

Richard

I can see at least one sub. (the sample is a bit small). Did you select the subtitle track? Otherwise it won't play of course...

Well, I just tested the file again.

Nero ShowView shows one switchable subtitle.

Other players (like VLC or Quick Time Player) shows the movie with sound but no subtitles :-(

Should I send a longer file?

I meant did you select the subtitle track in VLC? VLC doesn't show subtitles by default.

Play movie, Menu->Video->Subtitle tracks->Track 1

Well, your really right!

This sample really works with subtitles!

Please Let me send your another example.

I name it Nero_No_Subtitle.mp4

VLC shows no subtitle, even if I select the subtitle track.
Nero Show Time shows subtitle.

Please take a look at the file.
With VLC (and all other freeware-Players) there are no subtitles.

Any idea?
