no audio in VLC; WMP and WinAmp does

Postby piet2 » 01 Mar 2009 19:39

LS.

Normally no problem with the sound when playing an avi-file; just a problem with one file that gives a faint sound in WMP and WinAmp and silence in VLC.
Do i miss the right codec ?
In generally: how can i find out whether i need an update for the codecs ?

Thanx for your attention and reply.

AVI is not a format but a container.
You need to find out the codec used by the audio track in this file with MediaInfo, for instance.
And/or to post a sample of your file.
