.ram file cuts out

When I play the .ram file found at: http://www.cbc.ca/ideas/features/scienc ... l#episode7 Direct Link:http://www.cbc.ca/ideas/media/science/e ... zajonc.ram the file cuts out after a few, or even a second of playing.

It cuts out at different points, all very early into playing the file.

Just thought I would let you know. You seem to be on top of a lot for an open source community..... And open source communities, I find, tend to be more on top of things than pay-software.

Oah yes. I updated my vlc to the latest version in order to make sure the problem had not already been fixed. I think it was already current, but I overwrote it anyhow.

I have not tried playing any of the other podcasts on the CBC site.

I found out that the cutting out was being caused in part by my internet connection. I had a upload going at the same time and my internet provider throttles my downstream when I have an up going.

In any case, real player displays an error that the server has dropped the connection. VLC just stops playing, while indication that it is still playing. Perhaps some better error handling would be in order.

Second problem...... Now that I have stopped it from cutting out, it plays at an accelerated speed. It sounds Something like double speed, but that could be off.

Alas, I still can not use VLC to listen and transcode my podcast.

I would be happy to provide any other information needed in order to get to the bottom of this.
