Extended Settings EQ Disable

Before I get validated through the Bug Trac system, and submit this as a feature request, could someone tell me if it's been done so already?

When listening to audio, and having a custom EQ set, the EQ gets changed/disabled after every song. Why?

This "feature" does not make sense, to me. I have no way to save my custom EQ, and the application will not let me use the EQ that sounds best for my Genre of music.

Does anyone feel the same way, or am I a black sheep in a field of white? Can someone explain the reasoning for this? I am looking to find a nice replacement for Winamp, on Linux, and VLC comes close. But this EQ issue really turns me off.
