Some particular DVDs do not load with VLC

I am having this issue with Dimmu Borgir's Invaluable Darkness DVD #1 . Here is the console output:

VLC and Xine-UI can't read the DVD. However, Windows Media Classic (K-Lite Codec Pack) can. Hence I suspect that something is wrong with my VLC installation. I use Gentoo X64 and the latest VLC ebuild from portage. Do you guys have an idea if this could be related to a missing library or a bug within VLC? If you need more information just tell me what you need. Thanks!

Looks more like something wrong with libdvdnav or libdvdread actually, given Xine cannot play either.
