Hello I had a previous version of VLC before and i hadn't updated in a long time, i think the version was 0.8.6a not sure about the letter but when i viewed video files like DVD's and AVI in full screen i had no problem viewing it and i came to use VLC for pretty much everything. I updated last night to the 9.0.8a version and i have to say it has giving me a lot of problems and headaches. I tried the new skin feature and that only ended in disaster, the skin i downloaded was way to small and when i tried to switch back to the default and wouldn't do it, i figured i could force it to revert back if i deleted the skin and selected the default again when i rebooted it. No luck only proceeded in crashing, i finally had to re install it again to make it work, then today when i tried viewing videos on it for the first time in full view it displays the tools on the bottom for about 3-5 seconds and the video is fine, but then the tools go away so you don't have to look at them, and the player then lags the video. It's been very frustrating ive tried looking at the wiki and through the forums to see if any one else had any problems and i didn't see any. I even went to youtube to see if there was a tutorial to fix this problem but with no such luck. I don't care about the skin bugs, i can go without skins but i would like to be able to view in full screen without my quality diminished, is there a way to fix this so that in full screen my video doesn't lag?
