Part of DVD Menu Missing

Some of the menus on my DVDs have animation at the beginning before you are allowed to choose a menu option. The menus on the newly released Sopranos box set is an example. VLC skips these animations and goes straight to the part of the menu where I am allowed to choose an option. How can I stop this from happening? Thanks.
