Full screen not shown on right monitor

Postby trickeh » 28 Dec 2008 02:44

Hello,

This is probably and hopefully a simple issue, yet i couldnt find any answer browsing thorugh the settings in VLC or when searched here in the forums to a solution.
My problem is that i just installed latest version of VLC due to that the old version randomly crashed upon playback so i thought a new version might fix it. Yet, i have no idea if it does because for some reason the fullscreen mode pops up on the wrong screen.

Im using two monitors, my computer monitor and my tv. But now for some reason wich i belive has to do with the settings somewhere, when doubleclicking the VLC window when its on my TV, the TV goes black and the video is shown in fullscreen on my computer monitor. This has never happened before and its only in VLC, not in WMP or WMC.

EDIT: Changing my TV to primary does not make the full screen show on the TV but switches to the computer monitor.
EDIT2: Changing the preferred display under video output/directx to display 2 wich is my tv made both screens go black.

Conclusion: New version of VLC seems utterly crap.

had this problem after upgrading from 9.3 -> 9.8a i think, it was an older version. Using Win XP, dual monitors(Tv+lcd), it wouldn't fullscreen on correct monitor after i dragged and double clocked video. always went to monitor(1) not monitor(2).

Did kind of fix it.. heres a rundown.
temp solution:
->Tools->Preferences...
-Check the SHOWSETTINGS(all) button on bottom left Preferences.
-Select VIDEO tab on left
-uncheck "Embedded Video"

now, you get 2 windows... the orginal and the video output. Drag that video output to the monitor you want to view it on, and it will fullscreen on it.

Also using XP SP3 and an LCD TV. I might try that, but i think not... I got tired of not being able to find a solution to the problem and downloaded the CCCP pack to go with the MPC Homecinema edt. and it works like a charm.
