Hi,
vector linux 4.3 (slackware-based, kernel 2.6.7)
I am posting relevant sections from the vlc message window regarding play of the identical raw dv file in vlc 0.7.2 and vlc 0.8.0. Play was successful in 0.7.2 (on another partition running vl 4.0 and kernel 2.4.26), unsuccessful in 0.8.0. Do the messages simply mean that ffmpeg has (once again) gotten confused about raw dv, and so vlc is stumped? I tried once to regress to the older, working ffmpeg version in my new partition but got stuck in compiler hell. If the problem looks to you like it's exclusively an ffmpeg issue, then I can decide whether to wait for a (re-)improvement in ffmpeg, or try to work through the compilation of the older version.
Thank you for all your work.
Best,
John Kelleher
