Can't save RTSP streams to file.

Postby bonacker » 02 Dec 2008 20:56

I'm trying to save an audio RTSP stream to a file. If I play the stream with VLC, the stream plays perfectly. If I try to save it to a file, I don't get error messages, and it makes the file, but the file is way too small: 50KB after a minute and it grows by only around 10KB every 15 seconds or so. If I play the file, people talking sound unintelligible, like Micky Mouse.

When I save http streams to a file, it works fine. It's only the RTSP streams that don't work.

I have tried many encapsulations and audio codecs in many combinations. The results are always exactly the same as described above. Regardless of whether I use raw or asf or mp3 or wav, it always gives the same result. Perhapls there is some specific encapsulation/codec I haven't tried that would work?

I'm using .9.6.99. with XP Pro.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks.
