cant play movies in full screen

hi.
updated vlc to the latest one yeasterday and now i cant view movies in full screen.
i tried 2 movies and they are decoded in xvid one with the sound in mp3 the other one in ac3.

as soon as i try to resize the window or go to full screen it goes black and i have to restart vlc to get a picture again.

anyone???
