Hello
First I wanna say thank you to everybody who contributed to this great piece of work... I really love VLC!
I've browsed the forum and haven't found anything usefull yet.
I try to live stream a webcam on a moving laptop.
Problem 1: I can view the stream on my laptop, but when I try to save the stream, only audio is recorded.
Problem 2: Very often VLC loses the connection and the video freezes and does not continue.
I wonder what the best settings are and whether there's a solution to these problems.
My setup:
The WiFi router (D-link dir 635, no WPA etc, nothing) is directly in the same room, so signal strength is good and as I'm transcoding (to H264 and mp3) the bandwidth shouldn't be important. My laptop is connected via ethernet to the wifi router. The room is quite small.
I planned to do streaming using an UMTS connection but haven't yet received the material.
What i tried
i tried some codecs but used mostly h264, mp3 and asf encapsulation. I tried mpeg ts too and I think ONCE i had a video which was stored with it, but I couldn't reproduce it. I played around with caching (on the server and client). But i had a lot of freezes using 20000ms caching on the client. I tried RTP/UDP and http.
Is there something I can do?
