Problem with subtitles

Postby PlaySomeJazz » 28 Jul 2008 13:02

I'm sorry if this isn't the right board to post in, but I didn't find any other board that could cover this problem.

I'm using VLC 0.8.5. I have a problem in using SUB/IDX files with MKV video files. When I open the video file, along with the subtitle file, I get this error:

Unrecognized format for 'C:\Documents and Settings\Razvan\My Documents\Azureus Downloads\[Rambo][Ghost In The Shell][Stand Alone Complex][01-12]\vts_01_0.sub'
Unrecognized format for 'C:\Documents and Settings\Razvan\My Documents\Azureus Downloads\[Rambo][Ghost In The Shell][Stand Alone Complex][01-12]\[Rambo][Ghost In The Shell][Stand Alone Complex][01-02].idx'

The video loads well. I tried renaming the vts_01_0.sub file to the same filename as the IDX and MKV file, but without success. After this, I tried to load the SUB file in Subtitle Workshop, but it also gave me the "Unable to load file" error. I could only assume that there is something wrong with the subtitle files. There isn't any place from where I can get another subtitle file, so I don't know what to do.

I've uploaded the SUB and IDX files below. Can anybody figure out what's wrong with them? Some badly written text line inside them? If anybody manages to fix them, could they re-upload them here? Thank you :)

The vts_01_0.sub file: Download
The IDX file: Download

Also, can anybody tell me how to attach files to a thread? I'm a newbie :D

I use vlc-0.8.6e-win32 and also have problems with the subtitles when i play MKV files. I get an error after a while but if i don't click on "Not Send" the movie goes on but without the subtitles. if i click on it vlc is crashing.

Is there any kind solution for it?

Thank you in advance
