model h

Hi, there, I'm a newbie, so don't knock me down and kick me.
I've used VLC for yrs and many editions, and one thing that confuses me is that sometimes the features seem to go backwards. Like the h that I recently downloaded because I set up a new puter and can't get to all my stored apps.
But this one has something that is driving me crazy, I can't seperate the main part from the controls console, which normally is quite easy, altho I forget what command was used, cause I've had one, that is always seperated for quite a while. I don't do any of the fancy dubing stuff and frankly, don't understand about 80% of VLC. Can someone answer this question?
TIA
Greg

Hi,
For the second part of your message:
click "Preferences" in "Settings" menu, then go to "Interface/Main Interface/wxWidgets" with the left side and untick "Embed video in interface".

regards,
_anthony
