Useing a diferent audio file

Postby Sp0oX » 22 Jul 2008 20:19

Hey guys I got a .mkv movie file that works great, however the movie is in Japonese. It came along with a .AC3 English audio file that I want to use but I can't seem to get VLC to use that audio file instead of the default japonese one. Anyone know if its even possible to use a separate audio file useing VLC? and if it is, then how would I go about doing it?

thx in advanced!

Try adding

Code: Select all

:input-slave="FULL-path-to-your-ac3-file"
in the MRL field of the open file dialog (not sure about the :).
You can also start it from the command line viewtopic.php?f=2&t=46979&hilit=input+slave

never tryed with mkv, but it works for .avis. Alternately you can mux the two files to create a new mkv (using mkv merge with mkv merge gui).
