Subtitle help

I'm playing an anime mkv file that has two separate imbedded subtitle tracks, one for spoken words, the other for signs and other written translations. I cannot seem to be able figure out how to turn both of these tracks on to play at the same time, as the menu only selects one or the other. Hopefully such a simple issue has a simple answer which will leave me feeling foolish, but until then, Help!
