No audio in Win2000

Postby Guest » 25 Aug 2004 23:52

I just installed VLC for Windows2000 because my computer was reporting that I had no dvd decoder and thus could not play dvds. Using VLC, I've now been able to get dvds to play -- but with no audio. Audio works fine in other applications at the same time. I have tried adjusting settings under the Directshow tab but I'm not sure what I'm doing and I can't get them to stick anyway. While it's playing, when I try to switch options under the audio menu it causes the program to stop responding.

Also, it sometimes takes a few tries (clicking "open," closing and restarting the program, repeating) to get the DVD to begin play, particularly getting to the menus.

Any suggestions?
Thanks much for your help.
