Burning MOV files to DVD for Playback on HDTV

I am looking for help on taking MOV files burning to DVD so that I can play them on my DVD player and watch on my HDTV. The files are MOV but in 720P (H.264 I think).
Will Roxio 10 work?
Do I need to buy HD DVD blanks?
Is ther such a thing as HD DVD burner (or will any burner do?)
If I use HD DVD blank for burning these files, do I need to buy Blue Ray player? Upconvert player?
