Can I somehow watch DVD video via ftp???

(I copy my DVD disk to ftp server. And I want watch it)

Not really.

You might be able to watch the VTS files separately but that's not really handy as a movie is usually composed of several of them so you'll have cuts in your playback.

Maybe you can implement that feature in vlc-0.8.0?

You should watch DVDs through a network with protocols, which are written for such a purpose, such as UDP. FTP hasn't been written for this purpose about 25 years ago and so it wouldn't make that much sense to support such a strange situation.

If you cannot or don't want to use UDP, you can use HTTP, which suits this purpose a bit better (but can also "stream" the Video TS-files only).
