problems with multicast streaming

Hello,

I would like to stream to multicast address using VLC.
I would like to run a 2nd VLC (on the same computer) and receive the stream from multicast.
(to prove that the streaming works!)
I am streaming from file.

(I have already tested the file. it's playable and I was also able to stream UNICAST UDP/RTP to the 2nd client)

Whenver I try to tune into the steam I get
Unable to open 'udp://@239.255.5.5:5555'
(239.255.5.5:5555 was the multicast target)

I have tried on windows XP and Vista
I have tried RTP and UDP
I have tried multiple address
I have disabled windows firewall on both computers
I have tried version 0.8.6d

I was able to make multicast work by going down to version 0.8.5

is there anything new regarding this?
will it be fixed in version 0.9.0?
