Problems streaming avi files using VLC

Hi,

I'm new in streming video. I have project streaming using VLS and VLC. I have .avi files but why only sound heard and no video. But I try to stream using .mp4 it can stream.

Can I used .avi files to stream video?

AVI is a container and not a format. I guess it depends on whats inside the container.

Transcoding is required for streaming.
