convert VLC MP4 file to VCD/SVCD/vob files

Hello everyone

this is my first post in this forum and I just want a little help so please don't shout at me if this is posted in the wrong place.

anyway I have this video file and when I got it, there was a text file saying to download vlc to play it and when I check out the properties it says its an mp4 file, however I would like to convert this file into one of the following

VOB
VCD
SVCD

in order that I can place it onto a dvd disc, I would rather convert it into VOB files but I do not know of any application that allows me to do this, please could somebody give me some advice...

I tried googling the question and it came up with Boilsoft MOV converter but that doesn't recognise it as a video file...

any help will be greatly appreciated as I need to get this onto a dvd.
