capture/record audio stream meta-information??

vlc is brilliant, guys that make it exists, to you all, you can save this world/civilization.
[to rest of us, not because vlc exists as such, but because the way these guys perceive the world]

now request for help
capturing stream, in this case audio, gives me a headache.
there is a radio station(s) (recommend myself, http://www.di.fm/)
when I play it I can see what is being played (as long as they say it)
you know, 'Now Playing' in meta-information
but! tried different containers (encapsulations), with transcoding and without.
I get some meta-info with mp4, mov containers
but cannot save this snippet of info?? about 'now playing'
appreciate any hints.
