Zune player - rotated video

Postby Steerpike » 21 Apr 2007 09:07

I converted an MPG file to play on a friend's Zune using the steps given in the wiki ( http://wiki.videolan.org/Play_on_Zune ). It played perfectly in Windows Media Player, but, she tells me the image is 'tall and narrow' - black bars on either side, with bodies tall and thin.

Now, I know the Zune rotates images through 90 degrees and plays them on it's 320x240 screen, and it sounds like my video was correctly rotated, but it's somehow thinking that the aspect ratio is taller than wide.

Since I don't have the Zune myself, does anyone who has one immediately recognize what I'm struggling to describe and have a solution? Thanks!

This may sound like a stupid question. But what happens if you don't rotate the video? Does the aspect ratio maintain for the size on the Zune screen? It is after all a handheld portable player that can easily be turned to see the picture.
