starting and ending video files

Postby dnra » 05 Apr 2007 04:31

Thanks for such a great media player.
Just a quick questions.
Can I start and end a video file and/or playlist with the video in a paused state?

Thanks for any help.

in vlc GUI interface, there is a "pause" button, ...is this NOT what u want?

for ActiveX control using javascript, try togglePause() ...

I'm wondering the same thing my self.
I need to use my computer to run some video clips for a live show, and I haven't had the time to figure out an easier solution then just using vlc.
However, I need to configure the player so that when I open a video, the player immediatly goes to fullscreen and pauses at frame 1, not starting until I press the space bar. I also need to get rid of the symbols that show up when I play or pause.
Is it possible to do this? Or something to think about for the next release?

Full screen and pause are available from the command line. You can also shut of the OSD either in Preferences or from the command line.
