Audio pauses every 2 seconds

Postby Medes » 03 Jan 2014 15:25

Hi All, I have a problem when I try to play audio or video files using VLC 2.1.2. Audio plays with pauses. Everything was OK with 1.x and first 2.x versions. It appeared about two months ago, but it wasn't so bad. Now audio pauses every 3 seconds.

VLC log contains this:
main warning: playback too late (70583): up-sampling
main warning: timing screwed (drift: 146937 us): stopping resampling
main warning: playback too late (149895): up-sampling

main warning: playback too late (131229): up-sampling
main warning: playback way too late (180833): flushing buffers

I tried to increase file caching time in Input/Codecs, but it doesn't help. How can I solve this problem?

Okay, I tried to install older versions of VLC. Seems like this problem appears in ver. 2.1.0, because in version 2.0.8 all files plays normally.

To help you, we need messages, to completely understand what your problems is.
To fix this, please be sure before you start the playback to:
  1. Open: Tools -> Messages.
  2. Set Verbosity to 2
  3. Start playback to reproduce your issue
  4. Save text in a file or copy into clipboard
  5. Then paste the full resulting log here between [code]and[/code] (or use Pastebin.com if it's too long)
Also don't forget to name your Operating System and provide the VLC media player version.

I have the same issue with some flv video files.

I believe the stutter occurs when the 'inserting XXXXX zeroes' occurs.

Oops, I assumed the version and OS would be in the log, these are:

Windows 8.1 x64
VLC 2.1.3 Rincewind

I can confirm it did not occur on my previously installed version of VLC, but I cannot remember the version number.

Can you please test VLC 2.2.0 from nightly builds?

Same issue with Windows 7 ultimate x64
VLC 2.1.5

Log looks exactly the same.
