Can the new VLC read many files in the same time?

Postby Raghnar » 27 Dec 2009 23:20

Hi, I'm an italian user of VLC
I have a question for people who work for the new version of VLC.
Can you create a VLC able to read in the same time many files?
What I mean?
Perhaps I'm watching a film, and I want to see only one scene of another one film in my carpet.
I have to close the first film, and open the second.
Can you create a VLC able to open two files at the same time? Or more.

P.S. pardon for my terrible broken English.

Ciao,

Why not launching a second VLC?

Hi. (ciao :D)

What do you mean whit "launching a second vlc"?
Pardon for the ignorance, but can I launch many times the same program?
I don't understand.

Yes you can launch the same program several times. Just open VLC again and a second VLC window should appear. This applies to nearly all programs.

Hmmm....
Not in my pc!
If I open a second file with VLC, the program close automatically the first file to open (automatically) the second.
In other words: I see VLC that plays a film, I double click another file, and the film that vlc is playing "change name" (:D).
What's wrong in me? :D

Ok, I have tried to do what you advised me.
And I've understood. I have to open the program again, not to open another file with the same program.
Is a very very long way! But it works.
Can we shorten this way qualifying VLC to open two file in the same time?
Not to read them, but to open them (and then read them)!
