We are interested to donate hardware (maybe plus cash) running Android to get VLC ported on the condition that we can get VLC running on our hardware within the next 1-2 months.

I am afraid you request lacks a lot of details. The amount of time and success depends on more information then you give. For one hardware (framebuffer/video card, audio, capture) and another what functionality of VLC must be working.

In light of the uncertainty above makes the suggested timelinepermature.
