Send your patches to vlc-devel@

Last time, the patches from zhaoyuehua didn't apply to 0.9.0 and didn't work correctly on linux.

It is a bit complex to use, but put drv43260.dll in plugins and it should work.

Tryed the other day and it seems to work fine, there's noticeable missing frames, especially at the begginning and the end of the .rm samples i've tryed.
In the .rmvb sample i tryed, frames kept going back and forth, and the rmvb .mkv file i've tryed wouldn't display the video stream (there was a entry in the messages window wich read "real error: missing extra information" or somesuch).
Still, it looks vey promising!
Keep up the good work!

I had to use the win32 essential binary codec pack from mplayer (not sure i can link to that!), as aparently latest versions of real alternative do not come with drv43260.dll anymore (or it is somehow renamed, tryed searching for it but could not find it).
I copyed that file, plus the other one in the archive with similar name (I think it was drv3*somenumber*.dll, anyway, it's easy to spot) in the vlc plugins folder and it worked.
I didn't use the latest nigtly, BTW. I think it was the one from june 25th, but I'm not sure.
I'll try to confirm once i get a hold of the box i've tryed this in, and try with the latest nigtly as well.

Can I volunteer to test the development version? I am eagerly waiting for the RMVB support in VLC, so I can stream rmvb over network to play in my network media tank. NMT has no native HW support for RMVB.
