Hi, thank you for you involvement, it would be greatly appreciated !
You could start by joining #videolan on IRC so as to get hints on what you can contribute on and ask questions about how it works or if your contribution is ok. I would advise you to communicate a lot and start very small at the beginning.
VLC's contribution process is by email, so if you plan on using git for this you can start by configuring it for send-email. If you're afraid of this, you could try to contribute on your public repository and ask for review on it. Some developers would take the time to check.
Would you like to contribute on the developer documentation or the user documentation ?

Hi
Thank you for your help
I would prefer to contribute by helping with the user documentation if this is not possible then i will help with the developer documentation.
Thanks
