Contribute to vlc

Hello my name is Florent , I’m a French student in computing science I have this project to contribute to an open source project and I’d like to contribute to VLC. I’d like to know if I could work on this bug : videolan.org/developers/vlc/doc/doxygen/html/bug.html
The GetFloat bug in particular.

Let me know if I can work on it and what do you think about this bug do you think it’s hard to solve etc ? I mean I’d like some guidance to start working on it haha.
