Video player by using multiprojectors

Postby Kinian » 15 Jan 2015 13:36

Hi everyone,

Here, I'd like to share a case of "Video player by using multiprojectors".

Last year, I constructed that prototype system. The system consisted of a group of projector arrays and a large-format display wall.

VLC was used to decode stream, calibrate video and display video synchronously in that prototype system.

Additionally, due to the arbitrarily position of projectors, we used Raspberry Pi processor and a CCD camera to capture the output of projectors and measure the distortion of those projectors. Then we use the results of that measurement to perform the calibration of projectors and form a seamless and large-format display wall.

For more details of my algorithm, you could refer to my published paper at http://dx.doi.org/10.1117/1.OE.53.6.063108. (Due to copyright affairs, I could not attach any pictures from that paper.)

I wish my research could provide an idea for VLC project. Thank you for your attention of my work.

To avoid those copyright conflict of my published paper, I retook some new pictures of my system as following.

It's similar to panoramix vlc filter.

Yes, it is.

But, my system used several computers instead one computer.

Additionally, it supported poorly aligned projectors because my system was able to calibrate images via geometry transfomation.
