HTTP Interface

Postby elminster2031 » 01 Jun 2011 22:27

Hi all,

I have been trying to read about helping the development of the project. I have designed an HTTP interface using jQuery that currently has 80% of the functionality of the existing HTTP interface. The documentation I have been able to find for submitting patches and the like say to send it through the list srv. Would that be the same for a new HTTP interface? I did notice there was a ticket opened... 5 years ago, to cleanup the HTTP interface. I was able to post the files there in hopes it could get in the right hands.

Currently, I cannot join the IRC channel, though I guess that would be my next stop. Would there be a better way to submit "not real code" changes for review? I do still want to flush out some of the functionality so it can do everything the current interface can, but if I am way off the mark, I want to know prior to putting all of the effort into the changes.

Thank you

For reference see Ticket #594

That would be amazing.
Why can't you join the IRC channel?

I was looking to contribute to VLC as well, and I also have some skills in the web side of things. Do you need any help getting your web interface up and running?
