Offer of help..

Postby greyworld » 02 Oct 2010 15:45

Hello all

Firstly, thank god there is VLC. It has saved my bacon a million times. At greyworld, the art group I founded in Paris, VLC reigns supreme.

I wanted to offer to help with some of the english on the website. Its understandable, but not really proper.. As its the first place people come to get VLC, its very important. If I rewrite the main parts, and email them would that be useful?

"You don't need to keep track of a dozen codec packs you need to have installed. VLC has all codecs built-in. It comes with support for nearly all codec there is" - i know what you mean, but its, you know, not Her Majesties English! :D

In any case, keep up the superb work

Andrew

The media player that fills all your needs. It can handle DVDs, (S)VCDs, Audio CDs, web streams, TV cards and much more.

My edits beneath yours..

You don't need to keep track of a dozen codec packs you need to have installed. VLC has all codecs built-in. It comes with support for nearly all codec there is.

With VLC, there is no need to continually update many different codec packs - VLC comes with nearly every codec built in!

And what is more it can even play back the file or media if it is damaged! Missing or broken pieces are no stop to VLC, it plays all the video and audio information that's still intact.

And whats more, VLC can play back your files, even if the media is damaged! Missing or broken pieces wont stop VLC. All the video and audio information that remains can be played.

I like reading about the extensions for the media player but I don't know how to modify code. We need to get an easy install for the extensions like chrome and mozilla have. That would be absolute perfection for me.
