I'm unable to switch the entire interface and some drop-down menus from Slovenian to english (version 1.0.3) even if I installed whole program in English language !! I never choose Slovenian language .. I have menu in english but when i open Preferences window i have most of the labels and comboboxes items in Slovenian! I don't want Slovenian messages, just plain English...
Any suggestions?

Select English on the INterface tab of preferences.

I have followed this advice and selected English but it makes no difference - the film soundtrack still comes out in French. When I was playing a DVD recently I had a choice of two audio tracks (track 2 was English) and I wonder why this facility doesn't work now.

VLC is not completetly language independed. If you really want to use english you need to INSTALL it with computer locale set to en-US (or was it IE locale, can't remeber). I had this same problem, some of the UI didn't change no matter which language I selected, unless I actually installed it with computer locale set to whatever language I wanted to use.

There seem to be right UI language for all menus, dropdowns etc. but those are not changed by selecting your UI language from UI.

They are. Don't crosspost.
