Sorry for bumping this old thread.
I can confirm that the issue remains in the last version I've used, 1.0.3, and the translation error is also present in the current version, 1.0.5. It is a very minor correction indeed. I thought I should post it here for the sake of a fully accurate english VLC translation.

It's actually fiwed only in the future 1.1.0 because changing in the current bugfix branch would break translations in all language but english.
Also note that the latest version is 1.0.5
