VLC 0.9.2 POT file?

G'day everyone

I see that 0.9.2 is officially out. The POT file in Git is still 0.9.0. Is this normal? Will there be a separate POT file for 0.9.2 soon?

Thanks
Samuel

Strings haven't changed between 0.9.0 and 0.9.2. So the VLC 0.9.0 pot file should still be ok. (Well there was 1 new string, for the right click menu on the cone image to download album art manually).

G'day again

I see now that version 0.9.4 is the latest Windows version and 0.9.5 is the latest version overall. But the POT file in Git is for version 1.0.0. I can't find a POT file in the Git history specifically for 0.9.5. Is there an appropriate POT file for 0.9.5? Which POT file should a translator use if he wants his translator in Windows 0.9.5 (when it comes out)?

Thanks
Samuel (leuce)

Thanks, but the POT file identifies itself as:
"Project-Id-Version: vlc 1.0.0-git\n"

For the record, after I posted here, I spoke to Xtophe on IRC last night as well:

[23:19] <leuce> I have a question about the translation of VLC. The latest POT file in Git is 1.0.0, but the latest version of VLC on Windows is 0.9.4. If a translator wants his translation accepted into the 0.9.5 Windows release, which POT file should he use?
[23:19] <leuce> I can't find a POT file specifically for 0.9.4 or 0.9.5.
[23:21] <xtophe> the one from the 0.9-bugfix
[23:21] <xtophe> (or the one from the 0.9.5 source tarball)
[23:22] <xtophe> http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=bl ... 0.9-bugfix

That POT file identifies itself as:
"Project-Id-Version: vlc 0.9.5-rc1\n"

But thanks for answering, j-b.

To make thing crystal clear:

All the translation work is based on the 0.9-bugfix branch.

The reasons are:
The strings in 1.0.0 (master) are not frozen at all whereas they are in 0.9-bugfix (unless they induced a bug or miscomprehension)
It's confusing for translators to maintained to slightly different po.

So when we decided to release 1.0.0-test1 and/or to freeze the strings, I will forward port all the l10n to master, do a new POT and tell the translators.

PS: about your question on fuzzy strings, we do accept po with fuzzy strings
