Hi,

You can find the current turkish translation file at [vlc.git]/po/tr.po
HTML: http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=bl ... ad;hb=HEAD
raw: http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=bl ... 4135e9fdad (UTF-8 encoded)

Be aware that
  • The last update is 7 days old as you can find in history link (see HTML link above), by Yuksel YILDIRIM (still working on it?)
  • The vlc-devel mailing list could help you if you have unanswered questions (do not hesitate)
  • The next release (0.9.0) is scheduled for next weekend, so your help will only appear on 0.9.1 I think (maybe around October/November if I remember correctly)
Extract of vlc-devel mailing list history (from Christophe Mutricy, xtophe@):
You can edit it with poEdit or Kbabel by example. Make sure to use utf8.

Once you're done, put the file online or send it to me personnaly as it
is too big for the mailing-list.

If you have questions, ask on vlc-devel@ or #videolan on
irc.freenode.net .

Thanks for your contribution,

ferroburak,

What you really need is to contact Yuksel YILDIRIM <xleopar at yahoo d0t com> who is the current translator and ask him if he needs help.
If you want to work on it as a team, one way is to use Pootle, else you'll have to distribute the strings between yourselves
