Extension auto select language

Postby scootergrisen » 27 Jul 2015 01:26

It seems VLC comes with the VLSub extension but it does not automatically follow the UI language that VLC uses, even though it is available in that language.

Is it not possible for extensions to auto select the same language that VLC uses?

The subtitle language in VLSub is automatically set to the language that VLC uses, the first time you start VLSub.

So in vlsub_conf.xml it says <language>dan</language> if VLC is using danish language.

Then if i delete vlsub_conf.xml and change language in VLC to svenska, restart VLC and select VLSub, now it says <language>swe</language> in vlsub_conf.xml.

If i change VLC to a language like nynorsk, that VLSub is not translated to, the <language> element is not created in vlsub_conf.xml and VLSub language is set to English.

Would there be any problem in setting <language> to the same value as <intLang>?

It could be done, with some code.
