Problems in Polish translation

Postby Xyzzy » 16 Jul 2007 11:05

This post is in Polish, as it refers to language problems with translation and I think it would be nonsensical to discuss Polish language issues in English.

Na podstawie nightly 2007.07.16:
1. Okno Lista odtwarzania, menu Pokarz obiekty- no jak rany... za co je karać...
2. Okno Lista odtwarzania>Pokaż obiekty>Normalne - chyba powinno być "Normalnie"- odnosi się do sposobu pokazywania obiektów (jak- normalnie), a nie do samych obiektów (pokaż jakie- normalne). A tak w o ogóle to lepiej brzmi imo 'Standardowo'
3. Okno Lista odtwarzania>Pokaż obiekty>Sortowane wg artysty- raczej wg wykonawcy, ponieważ a) artysta to tutaj kalka z angielskiego, b) co jeśli mamy na myśli np. orkiestrę i c) to się po polsku nazywa właśnie 'wykonawca' (patrz np. okładki płyt, sklepy internetowe itd.)
6. Zarządź>Dodaj prosto plik- w oknie głównym jest Otwórz bezpośrednio plik
7. Zarządź>Odkrycie usług- a dlaczego nie Wykrywanie usług?
8. Zarządź>Odkrycie usług>Zapowiedzi SAP- u Microsoftu announcement to 'anons'
9. Zarządź>Odkrycie usług - dwie pozycje menu nie przetłumaczone

Wychodzi mi, że to tłumacznie to pewnie 'praca w środku toku' ;).

X.

you should contact the translator about those, or submit a patch on the .po to vlc-devel

Hi

The current VLC version 0.8.6d has some translation mistakes in the play list window.
I'm still working on the translation for 0.8.6-branch and I have corrected these bugs.
Please update the file if you want to use VLC in polish.
Download:
http://www.alice-dsl.net/m_t/pl.po

BTW: This new VLC version have this unicode bug again. If you select another language
so the menu entries are blank and empty! The previous 0.8.6c was OK. whats wrong?

Hey nice present from you to the end of this year!!!
Now mostly all visible functions of the VLC are translated into polish!

THANKS!

But:
Polish is still missing in the installer file (vlc.win32.nsi.in)
Its already enabled in the 0.9.0 version:
http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/changeset/20671

Could you also put polish into the current 0.8.6-branch installer?

That would be nice!

Nave a nice year 2008!!!
now VLC 0.8.6e can come.....

I'm not sure if polish translation is still maintained, but this is total mess, really, espacially most of advanced option looks like from google translate (without any sense) or even worse.

I can't take up entire translation (have no time for maintain this), but I can correct some wrong translated strings. Is this enough to post .po file here (or send somwhere). This is strongly recommended to make some corrections.
