strange garbage on a tooltip

In the Open... dialog box -> DirectShow tab, the tooltip over the dropdown box near the Audio device name says "Name of the audio device that will be used by the DirectShow plugin. If you don't specify anything, the default device will be used. You can specify a standard size (cif, d1, ...) or <width>x<height>".

Is the last part a desired string, or is this just garbage ? It makes no sense to me.
In German it is translated as is, in French it is omitted.

In the wxwidget interface or in the QT ones ?

The additional garbage is present in vlc.pot file from version 0.8.6c.
Now I see that in the vlc.pot file from version 0.9.0 the additional garbage no longer exists.
