Movie/video organizer

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm looking for an application that organizes a movie collection and presents a graphical overview of the library and then, at a click, plays the movie using VLC. Any ideas? As far as OS, I'm interested in Mac as well as Windows.

Conceptually I think of it as an iTunes for movies... A place that contains some information on the movies, has a graphical picture of each, and then on selection will play the movie.
