Well, 1.1.x did come with small upgrades, didn't it? But it is definitely annoying.

I found this in the bug tracker, which is really disappointing.
Patch welcome. We have currently no maintainer for the ActiveX control.
I now wish the ActiveX/plugin had not been available as now I have selected it for my project only to find that there is little chance of the bugs being fixed. I did most of my evaluation of VLC using the main app, which is really great. I had assumed that the plugin/activex would be just as good but just limited in features.

The older versions still work, but it is a pain that most people have switched to the new one by now. :(

the following people seem to be the developers, somebody should ask them to put everything back to normal as it was for 8.6a version of vlc, everything was working fine, from 9.9 of videolan, somebody has taken the time to piss all over the web plugin

Amir Gouini - VLC mozilla plugin event listerners.
Cyril Mathé - WebPlugin features and improvements
Frans van Veen - Mozilla plugin toolbar
Jasper Alias <j.alias at student.hhs.nl>- Mozilla plugin toolbar

As far as I am aware, everything was fine up to 1.0.6.

There are no active developers for the plugin anymore, I believe, and the vlc team looks at the forums a lot, but if you're not too annoying, I suppose direct communication probably wouldn't hurt.

To be fair, some of the new features that do work are pretty nice.

We need people to work on those features, and people only complain, noone codes... So, code doesn't get fixed...

We don't complain but when there is a function, we expected it works, it seems logical. All the users of my website are telling me : "The fullscreen mode doesn't work !". We can't answer : "Install an old version of VideoLan, it works better !".
This fullscreen problem is important for web developpers and enter into the vlc sourcecode is not easy at all. We just say : it would be very nice if it could be fixed, that's all. This is not a complaint. If it can't be fixed, it's not the end of the world...

Everything can be fixed, with the right amount of time (or money...).
This is as simple as that.
