Change OSD and Overlay if no video

There are two things I am trying to accomplish via Javascript.. This is for my TV Channel webpage..

1] is there a way to change the OSD to show the channel name that I am trying to stream, instead of udp://@x.x.x.x or entirely disable it?
2] if vlc is unable to connect to the stream, is it possible to overlay a image or text to say "Video not available, try again later"

Any help I am able to get would be most greatly appreciated! Thanks much!

Going to assume that there is no way to disable the Media Title from playing via Javascript? :(

Does this help? viewtopic.php?f=16&t=59497
For the title at least. I have that working...

I'd also like the no video available option!
