VLC 0.9.x plugins still faulted

The plugins of VLC 0.8.6 (Internet Explorer and Firefox) are both working correctly if you are accessing the Internet from behind a proxy.
The plugins of VLC 0.9.x are not working correctly if you are accessing the Internet from behind a proxy. They seeem not to use the proxy setting of the standalone VLC.
The bug was reported here:
#2120 win mozilla plugin 0.9.2 - seems not being using http(s) proxy preferences
This nasty bug is there since more than 3 months (since the release of 0.9.2). I tested the latest 0.9.8a too, and it is still faulted.
Until this bug is not fixed, no VLC plugin user will be able to access a video that is behind a proxy, making basically impossible to make use of the VLC 0.9.x plugins.
