Sorry I don't speak English very well.

I installed a program where there are links to my films.
The films are on my network.
But when I released the films on a website, there is a link to the media but it will not open.
I'd like open it with VLC.
I use Firefox, and if i copy the link in a new tab, the film opens with VLC.

there are a number of ways to play films off a website. this should be the easiest
1. install vlc including the firefox plugin and the activeX
2. In firefox go to options and make sure that vlc is the main player for file extensions that your film files have (ie they could be .avi, .mpg)
3. make sure that the MRL/url pointing to the films is correct (eg rambo could be located http://youripaddress/movies/rambo.avi)
4. when you open that link in firefox, vlc should play it automatically.

 you could manually create and html list with film locations and put it on your server for easy access.

let us know how it goes

firefox is a browser so its main purpose is to deal with http and other web content. TO be able to view media content using the explorer path you can use the mozilla firefox vlc plugin make sure you select it at installation time then go to http://people.videolan.org/%7Edamienf/plugin-0.8.6.html in the MRL place in the location of your file (eg x:/movie/rambo.mpg) then click go. when you click on play it should play right within the browser.
