Show / Overlay Text on Video

Hi everyone,
I've included the VLC Player in a website with firefox plugin, and now i want to show text(for example channelname...) a few seconds on the video.
is this possible, or maybe it is possible to show epg- or teletext-data? the video source is a multicast ts-stream, so i think there're all the datas i need...
